Everton say goodbye to James McFadden after his short term loan. Joining him on the bus is Denis Stracqualursi and goalkeeper Marcus Henheman. Royston Drenthe was confirmed as being despatched back to the continent where he is currently without a club.
Tim Cahill is the subject of a bid from the Middle East though David Moyes has made it clear that that he expects him to stay.
Press speculation, meanwhile, links us to Robert Huth (who we had previously tried to sign from Chelsea) and Icelandic striker Bjorn Bergmann Sigardarson who scored a last minute winner for Lillestrom in front of Everton representatives on Sunday. Also being linked is Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez.
There is still no news about pre-season games though the club has confirmed a training camp in Austria with the possibility of two European tournaments in a marked changed to normal pre-season preparation on a different continent. Portugal and Poland continue to be mentioned though with Shropshire Blues attendance at Poznan, Gdansk and Warsaw at the Euros maybe somewhere else would be preferable. There are only so many potato dumplings a guy can eat.
