A mixed bag of pre-season games starts with our first ever visit to Morecambe's Globe Arena and ends in an extragaganza in Malaga. The break hasn't seemed so bad this time around with the Euros keeping attention, not least with Shropshire Blues representation in Poznan, Gdansk (what goes on tour stays on tour hey Mr Goat?) and Warsaw.
Incredibly we have made an early signing, Stephen Naismith arriving on a free from Rangers, or what was Rangers. Legal wrangling will hopefully be resolved over the coming days rather than weeks or months as FIFA is expected to adjudicate. The next target is Steven Pienaar; talks are reportedly taking place over a £5m transfer.
Speculation over the departure of David Moyes went as soon as they surfaced though there are lingering rumours about a Leighton Baines departure to Man Utd. Chelsea's supposed interest in Marouane Fellaini, who's reputation was enhanced after his performance for Belgium against England, has disapated though there appears to be interest from Turkey for Johnny Heitinga.
No doubt it will all sort itself over the next few weeks though Moyesie seems quite upbeat about getting some bodies through the door well in advance of our usual deadline day scramble.
Sean has got himself into a state of high excitement about the new kit. But don't expect to read his views in the Sean's Scribbles section as it has been five years without being updated!
The Shropshire Blues Annual BBQ takes place 21/7 at the usual venue but we will have to take a proverbial rain check if it continues to precipitate over the next week. Potential back up dates are 4/8 and 18/8.
