Late update this week with hopping over to Norway for a couple of days after the West Brom game. Great news in that respect and excellent timing with the arrival of Shropshire Blues Cub no. 2!. Hot on the heels of Russell's bundle of joy it is congratulations to David and Merethe on the birth of Anna! Just waiting for Liam now.
The West Brom game has probably a bit second gear stuff after the high jinx at Sunderland but we had enough in the tank for an easy 2-0 stroll, much to th edelight of Paul and Gary who's 2-0 purple patch continued. Pity their bet is only on home games. Still, their wheelbarrow of winnings on Saturday pays for their Wembley tickets and a bale of hay at their Watford lodgings.
All attention through the week has been on the semi final. It has been a logistical nightmare trying to get all of our tickets in the bag. Top marks to Sean and Liam who have navigated us into a position where all of our mainstream members have got a ticket.
Before any semi there are, of course, two games over Easter. The daunting trip (in travel terms) to Norwich followed quickly by another game against Sunderland. Moyesie has a dilemna once more. Field strong teams or throw out the rezzies? Having moved ourselves up to 7th it is sincerely hoped that we don't screw things up over these two games. For sure all eyes are on the cup game and there might be a bit of rotation but hopefully nothing too daft.
Royston Drenthe has been reported to be back in training after being granted compassionate leave to return to Holland. Ross Barkley is in the USA in an under 20 tournament so will not feature which is a bit of a pity. Undoubtedly whoever features will be trying to gain a place in the cup squad though I suspect that Moyesie already knows his first choice team.
Laugh of the day has to have been around the 'sweetgate' scandal at Goodison. If you haven't seen it have a look here
